Ramp It Up/Stamp It Down – Friday 24th August
Ramp It Up!
If we had to choose a Prince to be, it would definitely be Harry. All of the benefits of being royalty, but given that he’s third in line to the throne, he’s unlikely to ever be King, and as such, he has to take very little of the heat poor aul’ Wills does. There’s endless photos of him falling out of clubs wrecked to bits every other weekend, there was the time he dressed as a Nazi for the lols, and now he’s naked in Las Vegas and we are all just simply amused. Living the dream.
Agyness Deyn’s first foray into fashion design has just begun with the launch of her capsule collection created for Dr Martens. Not only working on the brand’s iconic boots, she’s created clothes and accessories too. Given her tomboyish, grungey style, this is one celebrity collaboration that actually makes sense. It’s super pretty too, with loads of daisy prints and layering. Cute!
Remember the game the characters in Community were in, in the three-episode season finale marathon? It exists! Why did the internet keep that so quiet? You can play it if you follow the instructions over on Reddit. Hurrah!
Stamp It Down!
Azealia Banks won’t be adding ‘punctual’ to her CV any time soon. Her 1991 EP was delayed before its June release this year, and now she’s tweeted saying her debut, Broke With Expensive Taste, which was promised for next month, won’t be out until February. It’s a good thing she has some ‘excitin ish’ things coming up to make up for it.
The Rose of Tralee may purport not to be a beauty pageant, but it still manages to judge women on their looks, personalities and talents, which sounds close enough for us. While many still seem to tune in to the RTÉ coverage, it would seem that most are doing so simply to take the piss out of it on Twitter. The hashtag for the event in itself, #rot, didn’t do the competition any favours.
You’d have thought that the world would have had its fill of Step Up after the first one, but apparently enough members of the public are still living their childhood dancer dreams through these movies to allow a fourth one to come into existence. It has few redeeming features, and it’s still in everyone’s faces with ads at every other bus stop. The best thing about it almost certainly that they didn’t even try and translate it to release it in France, they just called it Sexy Dance 4.
