Beauty: Anime Girl Halloween Make Up Tutorial
The latest craze of ‘real-life Barbies’ and ‘living dolls’ sweeping the internet is hard to ignore. Weird? Yes. Impressive? Well, yes. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but having experienced first-hand the challenge of transforming yourself into a real-life cartoon/doll, I can only admire the determination and sheer patience of these girls who doll themselves up (see what I did there?) to this degree every single day.
Take Anastasiya Shpagina. The 19 year-old Ukrainian model is one of a growing number of girls who transform themselves every day into a living Japanese cartoon character. We can only marvel at her talent while on the other hand wonder what makes her feel the need to turn herself into something she’s not every day of her life (she has also reportedly had plastic surgery to look more doll-like) but that is another discussion entirely. One thing that’s for sure is she has an incredible talent that inspires many people, myself included.
While I feel no need to apply this much make up on a daily basis, I find make up at its most fascinating when it is used to completely transform a face as opposed to enhancing a person’s own features, and there is no better time to try this out than at Halloween. I decided that it was time to step out of my comfort zone and tackle a make up feat that would make even Christina Aguilera’s make up artist cringe.
