Ramp It Up/Stamp It Down – Friday July 20th
Ramp It Up!
Finally, all of the over-exuberant ‘Sale!!! New Lines Added!!!’ signs are coming down, and we need not be accosted by multiple exclamation marks at every turn. At this stage, all that’s left is the weird clothes no one wanted, in the weird sizes no one is, and some seriously dodgy patterned leggings. You don’t want to be wearing either.
Amanda Palmer has crowd-sourced funding for her new album, performed naked to repay fans, and now she’s stripped down in the video for her new single ‘Want It Back’ with the Grand Theft Orchestra. The lyrics to the song are scrawled across her body, and her surroundings in an awesome stop motion video. Be warned, NSFW!
Once you’ve found T-Rex Trying, I’m pretty sure you’ve finished the internet. This Tumblr, detailing the trials and tribulations of T-Rex as he goes about life, is everything that was missing from your own. He can’t even hold She-Rex’s hand; it’s ridiculously cute.
Stamp It Down!
We do expect more from Pixar than most animation studios, but they got a bit lost with Brave. With little innovation, they borrow old characters and storylines, and throw in a dash of mixed-up feminism with their Disney Princess, and call it a movie. For shame, Pixar. You’re getting lazy.
With the announcement that Rihanna will be designing a collection for River Island comes the realisation that every fourteen-year-old girl will be dressing like someone whose clothes have been put through a shredder, or who only has half a wardrobe. It was offensive to the eyes when they all had that asymmetrical red hair, let’s not encourage them to take it further.
There’s been so much hysteria surrounding one film that you all will undoubtedly end up disappointed. More annoying than anything has been the seemingly infinite tweets and statuses threatening death and other heinous things should anyone dare to post spoilers anywhere. We get it! Please just go see the movie and make less noise about it.
